Overview

In 2006, the Infiniti M debuted; it has been the closest Asian vehicle comparing to the 5 Series by BMW. The M is more athletic than Acura models or the Lexus, and 2006 to 2010 M variants prove competitive with the finest of Deutschland's vehicles.The 2011 M by Infiniti will enter the vehicle into the car's third generation and the car is the flagship offering of the carmaker. The interior is attractive, lush, and well-appointed. The driving manners are excellent too.The newest M is wider/longer than earlier versions; it has an M37 3.7 Liter V-6 engine or a M56 5.6 Liter V-8 motor. The 2011 spring model will come with the M35 V-6 hybrid and an included battery made of lithium ion. The hybrid will offer the best fuel-efficiency and will be the cleanest car ever made. The M56/M37 will be coupled with an automatic, 7-speed transmission, All Wheel Drive, and will host 20-inch alloy wheels in the sport package. What's New

Virtually every aspect of the 2011 Infiniti M is new, including fresh styling inside and out, more powerful engines, improved fuel efficiency, and more technologically advanced features. Resembling a plus-sized G sedan, the M is quicker, thanks to a 330-horsepower V-6 and 420-horse V-8, yet, with a standard seven-speed auto, more fuel miserly. Infiniti's Forest Air air-conditioning feature and blind-spot intervention raise the technology bar.

Exterior

Up in length and width but down in height, Infiniti's fresh flagship wears curvaceous sheet metal draped over available 20-inch wheels (18-inchers are standard). The sculpted fenders and low-slung, upright grille come from the voluptuous Essence concept.

Interior

A new deluxe touring package adds super soft semi-aniline leather, suede-like headliner, and unique Ash trim hand-buffed with genuine silver powder. Available Forest Air provides humidity control, a breeze mode that alternates airflow, and auto recirculation.

Performance & Handling

The M37's 330-horsepower V-6 moves the sport sedan from 0-to-60 in 5.3 seconds and gets fuel economy of 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway to boot. For more go, there's the M56's 420-horsepower V-8 that drops 0-to-60 to 4.6 seconds (and fuel economy to 16 city/25 highway). Enthusiasts will appreciate the sport package's steering wheel-mounted magnesium shift paddles and larger Akebono brakes. A new four-mode (standard, eco, sport, snow) Infiniti Drive system comes standard.

Safety

Infiniti's Safety Shield adds the world's first blind-spot intervention system (selective braking intervenes to pull the car back into its lane) to lane-departure warning, lane-departure prevention, intelligent cruise control, and distance control assist safety systems.
